Walking Tour of Hespeler Village
Saturday, May 06
2:00pm - 3:30pm
Jane’s Walks are citizen-led walking tours that make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and collectively reimagine the places in which they live, work and play.
Put on your walking shoes and join us on a stroll around Hespeler village based on information from the City of Cambridge’s archives. Your tour guides Catherine and Susan will share some stories from the past, and take you to visit some key locations that have made Hespeler what it is today. This walk is part of our celebration of the 100th birthday of the Hespeler Carnegie Library.
Hespeler
Nestled in historic Hespeler village, the Hespeler Library is a fusion of the old and the new. This 100-year-old Carnegie library is encased in a modern glass structure and boasts a comfortable reading area with a fireplace as well as a spacious and welcoming children’s area. The environmentally responsible building features recycled white oak floors and a ceramic treatment on the glass to reduce sunlight intensity.
Cambridge Public Library supports and inspires its community to explore reading, the arts, innovation, and lifelong learning across five locations and online.
