This powerful documentary explores the psychological scars of war and highlights the importance of understanding in successfully integrating refugee children into Quebec’s schools.
How can refugee children integrate into Quebec’s school system, given the unspeakable violence they’ve experienced? Following a psychologist specializing in conflict-related trauma, Unspoken Tears (Trauma Through Words) pays tribute to the admirable resilience and survival strategies of these “small adults,” whose spirit the bombs and camps have not completely crushed, at a time when it is vital to raise awareness in Western societies of migration-related issues and children’s rights.
Join the screening of Unspoken Tears (Trauma Through Words) followed by facilitated conversations to unpack our perceptions.
Waterloo Region Migration Film Festival
December 18 is International Migrant Day. At Immigration Partnership we celebrate it by organizing the Waterloo Region Migration Film Festival (WRMFF) 2022 - #WRMigFest. The objective of this initiative is to use films as educational tools that influence perceptions of and attitudes toward migrants, by bringing attention to their social issues. The goal of the Festival is to pave the way for greater discussion around migration and relocation, by creating safe spaces for respectful interaction and dialogues.
This event is in partnership with Conseil scolaire Viamonde. Thank you to our event sponsor, Poppin Kettle Corn.
