Learn all about storing, freezing and canning your summer harvest.
Diane O'Shea, retired Professional Home Economics teacher and member of the Ontario Home Economics Association, will discuss best practices for storing, freezing, canning, and some information about creating pestos and infused vinegars.
Diane O'Shea is a retired Professional Home Economist with an expertise in Family Studies education having taught at the high school and Faculty of Education levels. She is an advocate for Food Literacy and has worked on initiatives as a representative for the Ontario Home Economics Association. More recently, she has written food-related projects for 4-H Ontario. Diane and her husband, Mike, now live in St. Marys, Ontario having retired from their Lucan area farm a few years ago. Her interest in agriculture and food remains strong along with volunteering in various community groups including the Rotary Club of St. Marys, area Horticulture groups, Stonetown Quilt Guild and Friends of the Library. She especially enjoys gardening, sewing, and culinary history.
