A day filled with scavenger hunts, games, and plenty of foodie fun!
Family Literacy Day is celebrated every January 27. This day aims to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in fun literacy-based activities as a family.
The theme for Family Literacy Day in 2026 is Make mealtime family learning time. Preparing for mealtime presents a fun (and delicious) opportunity for families to learn together. Whether it involves following recipes, creating shopping lists, or sharing stories at the dinner table, you can transform mealtime into a family learning experience.
Celebrate Family Literacy Day at the library, take home an activity booklet, and borrow some recipe books.
