Enjoy a creative evening in the Gallery Studio with a focus on improving mental health.
Cambridge Art Galleries is proud to celebrate its commitment to art and health. Through creative programming, Art + Wellness workshops foster belonging, combats social isolation, and demonstrates the transformative power of art in supporting well-being. In each Art + Wellness session, we welcome a different wellness practitioner, counsellor, or art therapist who guides participants through a series of activities and exercises to focus on mental health, well-being, and connection.
About the Presenter
Karen Campbell has been a registered psychotherapist since 2011. Karen has a Master of Counselling Degree, with a specialization in Art Therapy. She has over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with complex mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment, intergenerational issues, grief and loss, as well as those looking for assistance with emotional regulation, self compassion and self-care. Karen brings an open-minded, client-centered approach to therapy. Karen also has extensive training in working with individuals who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol. She is a committed ally to our indigenous neighbours and cares deeply about the ongoing injustices of colonization. Karen believes in the healing properties that connection brings; the fertile ground for growing the seeds of positive change.
Outside of the office, Karen is passionate about her connection with nature, creative endeavours, and living a balanced life. She enjoys photography, camping, kayaking and learning about plants.

This series is part of the larger Art + Wellness Project, made possible by the generous support of the Community Fund, the Marion Woeller Community Arts Fund, The Anonymous Fund, and the Keith and Winifred Shantz Fund for the Arts, held by the Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
