Join Alisa in the Preston Gallery for a fun-filled weaving workshop.
Slow down and weave by feel in this exploratory workshop focused on intuitive making. Using simple cardboard looms and easy-to-follow shapes, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of weaving while being encouraged to experiment freely with yarn, fabric strips, and other tactile materials.
Rather than following rigid patterns, we’ll focus on colour, texture, and rhythm—letting the materials guide each decision. This workshop is about play, curiosity, and discovering how weaving can become a personal and expressive process.
This workshop is presented as part of Belonging: Artist in Residence. All materials are provided, no experience necessary.
Belonging Artist in Residence is made possible through the generous support of the Keith and Winifred Shantz Fund for the Arts held at the Waterloo Region Community Foundation.
