Find inspiration in the patterns around you and bring them to life in your own artwork.
We live in a patterned world. Whether we find them in nature, architecture or a simple wallpaper design, patterns surround us, imbued with the power to inspire, evoke memories and help us tell our stories. Hamilton artist Stephen Altena employs patterns and decorative motifs as the basis for his artwork. In this workshop, you’ll experiment with the creation of basic patterns using paint through demonstrations and exercises provided by the instructor. Some previous painting experience is recommended. All materials provided.
