Learn and be amazed about owls of Canada from owl aficionado, David Gascoigne.
Throughout history no birds have evoked more human emotion, from reverence to dread, than owls, those mysterious creatures of the night. The unique lifestyle of these fascinating birds continues to be a source of wonder for people the world over, no less here in Canada where we have come to appreciate owls and the vital role they play in a healthy ecosystem.
About the speaker
David Gascoigne has been involved with nature since the age of eight and it occupies his daily activities in one form or another. On most days you will find David in the field, always learning something new. David is a two-time Past President of Waterloo Region Nature, recipient of the 1990 ACRA Award from the Town of Markham for Outstanding Civic Contribution, and the 2018 Waterloo Region Nature Conservation Award. Nothing gives David more pleasure than to share his knowledge with others and to fire up their enthusiasm for nature.
