It's a Dragonfly Summer! Stop by and make a dragonfly to wear.
Today I saw the dragonfly
Come from the wells where he did lie.
An inner impulse rent the veil
Of his old husk: from head to tail
Came out clear plates of sapphire mail.
He dried his wings: like gauze they grew;
Thro crofts and pastures wet with dew
A living flash of light he flew.
- Alfred, Lord Tennyson

About the Grand River Play Project
For three years, communities along the Grand River have been meeting in story circles and quilting session to share stories of their lives along the Grand River. From these gatherings, stories were brought together to create The Voice of the River. This project is a month-long, multiple-stop play along the banks of the Grand River with stops in Caledonia, Elora, Dundalk, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Glen Morris, Rockwood, Paris, Brantford, Dunville, and Ohsweeken. Each stop hosts the individual community's unique stories and celebration as well as an overriding production about growing up on the banks of the Grand River created collectively from all communities. With stories of both indigenous and settler origin, multiple partners, a moving outdoor venue and the inclusion of local vision The Voice of the River is a creative collaboration on a grand scale and a celebration of our unique history.
