Join us and learn a little bit about the history of Islam while we mark Muslim Heritage Month. Our speakers, Fauzia Wafai and Abiha Syed from the Muslim Women of Cambridge will share the stories of renowned Muslims and their contributions to humanity throughout history, and even some famous Muslims of today who are versatile in their fields.
Explore the diversity that exists within the faith of Islam, and the folks who practice it including the multitude of people, stories, and cultures that have shaped, and continue to shape Canada. The importance of celebrating the rich heritage of Muslims is to know our Muslim neighbors better and to clear some misunderstandings which have been created by misrepresentation and misleading media stories.
The Clemens Mill location shares space with St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School, as the first integrated high school and public community library in Ontario. This location features maker and gaming equipment as well as community greenspace, with a variety of sports and recreation equipment available to borrow from the Active Living collection. The vibrant children’s area welcomes families and showcases the Cambridge Clothing Index (Closet Stories).
