Join us virtually as we explore printmaking while making squares for the From Behind the Mask Community Quilt Project.
In this workshop with artists from Otherwise Studios, you’ll gain the knowledge and confidence to transform your own ideas into prints using resources and tools typically found at home. You’ll learn printmaking basics, including how to ink up your “matrix” and how to hand-print a single-coloured print. Processes can be adapted for different skill levels, from beginner or family-friendly to experienced printmaker. From Behind the Mask Community Quilt Project Founder Brenda Reid will join us to explain the project and cheer us on!
This event will be held on Zoom. If more than one person is participating from your household, please add their names to your registration so we can provide the correct number of kits.

About the From Behind the Mask Community Quilt Project
Our experiences of COVID-19 have been and continue to be unequal. Some people have lost jobs, some work overtime in harm’s way, some have died, and others have recovered. We are facing the global pandemic here - in our community. Wearing a mask is one way we show care for those around us. We wear them to protect others.
We are making a community quilt based on the form of a mask! This is an opportunity to come together—while apart—and make something that will remain as a memorial, acknowledge inequality, and act as a starting point for healing. Each quilt block answers the question: From when the pandemic started, back in March 2020, until now, what has changed the most in your life? Learn more at From Behind the Mask Community Quilt Project.
