Dan Schmalz, City of Cambridge Information and Archives Analyst, shares the story of the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service who played a crucial role in aiding the Allied war effort during the Second World War. Learn how they changed the role of women in wartime, trained in the Galt area of Cambridge, and even helped with breaking Nazi German codes.
Dan will explain their history and how the City of Cambridge Archives was chosen to house their archives including photos, diaries, and uniforms.
