Queer Craft Circle is a fun, casual program for 2SLGBTQ+ identified people in Waterloo Region. Together we will explore a new creative project with a guest artist each month. This month we are exploring collage with artist Brittany Sostar.
About the Instructor: Brittany Sostar is an emerging artist who makes drawings, photographic series, collages, zines, and performance pieces. These works aim to explore identity, relationships, and perceptions. In reconfiguring the familiar and society’s deemed ‘norms’, Brittany draws attention to areas of disruption that can be made within repetitive or habitual behaviors and modes of thinking. Most recently, these areas of focus are being applied to a body of works and research projects focusing on gender, queerness, and kinship.
This program is offered in partnership with Spectrum, Waterloo Region’s Rainbow Community Space.
