Join us for this fun, casual program. Together we will explore a new creative project with a guest artist each month. Registration is limited to 2SLGBTQ+ -identified people in Waterloo Region. This month we are exploring Japanese stab binding techniques for book binding with Alyssa Pisciotto. Participants will be walked through the methodology and stitching process of each style, as well as learn a brief history about this method of binding books. The Three stitches that will be taught are The Nobel Stitch, The Tortoise Shell and the Hemp Leaf Stitch. These patterns will increase in difficulty and build on the previous stitch’s methods. This is a beginner friendly workshop with no experience necessary.
A materials kit will be available to pick up starting on April 17, 2023 at Idea Exchange, Queen's Square - Member Services.
Other items you will need for the workshop include: scissors, ruler, eraser, pen/pencils/markers in a few different colours.
This workshop is offered virtually. You only need to register once per device.
