This month we are exploring needle felting with artists Michael Rouse and Peter Van Ryn. Come together and celebrate love in all its forms with wool felters and life partners Michael Rouse and Peter van Ryn. During the workshop, you’ll learn the process of needle felting with wool to create a simple piece of jewellery, a decoration for your home, or a greeting card. You’ll be able to work with a variety of colours to express your creativity and at the the end of the evening, take home something for yourself, or someone else you love. This workshop is open to everyone, from the novice to the experienced artisan.
About the instructors:
Michael and Peter bring their respective backgrounds in arts education and floral design to this workshop. They showcase their needle felted and wet felted wool creations through woolwaterneedle and are inspired by nature to create work that is decorative and allows viewers to bring their own narrative to a piece. Recently Peter has been focusing on felted paintings of farm buildings of Southwestern Ontario. Michael is often in the studio creating custom pet portraits in wool.
