Create, experiment, and make in this four-week STEAM Art Club!
Week 1: Celebrate Dot Day - International Dot Day began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book The Dot on September 15, 2009. It has now become a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration. Let’s be brave, make our mark and watch it come to life using Quiver Augmented Reality.
Week 2: Story Stones! Story stones are pictures painted onto smooth pebbles, used as an aid in storytelling. Paint your favourite fairy-tale or create your own story to tell.
Week 3: Galaxy Jars – Learn the difference between a Galaxy and a Nebula by looking at pictures taken from the Hubble Telescope. Then create a Galaxy or Nebula in a jar to take home! (program idea inspired by the Ontarian Librarian)
Week 4: Computer Code Jewelry – Learn to spell your name using the Binary Code. Create unique necklaces, bracelets or keychains and wear code!
Week 5: Bad Art Night – Let’s end our Art-venture program with a silly party! Let your creativity go wild and create wonderfully “bad” pieces of art. (program idea inspired by the Ontarian Librarian).
Registration begins on Tuesday, September 6 at 10am.
