Gingerbread House Contest
November 28 - December 16 (All Ages)
Back for a second season, our Gingerbread Contest will run between November 28 and December 16. Send us a photo of your Gingerbread House for a chance to win a prize. Happy Building!

Submissions will be judged in the following categories: Child (Ages 6 and under), Youth (Ages 7-12), Teen (Ages 13-17), and Adult (Ages 18+). All building components must be edible. Once you have registered, select your age category under “Missions” to submit your photo.

Gingerbread House Contest for all ages sponsored by Idea Exchange. The contest begins on November 28, 2022, and ends on December 16, 2022.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Only an email address is required to submit entries. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of Idea Exchange. Void where prohibited by law.
Just as in our in-person programming, in our programs online we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe, positive and quality environment where we treat each other with respect and courtesy.
Program participants and staff are expected to follow the Idea Exchange Code of Conduct.
The contest is open to residents of the Region of Waterloo. The Gingerbread House Contest is open to applicants of all ages. Only one submission per applicant is allowed. Submissions will be judged in the following categories:
- Child (Ages 6 and under)
- Youth (Ages 7-12)
- Teen (Ages 13-17)
- Adult (Ages 18+)
Entries will be evaluated based on Overall Appearance, Originality, and Use of Food Design. The winner will be contacted by email or phone and will have one week to respond. If no response is received within one week, another winner will be chosen. Staff are not responsible for prize fulfillment or any technical failures.
Idea Exchange reserves the right to publish the first names and last initials of winners. Idea Exchange reserves the right to publish any images or other media submitted as part of any program, challenge, or mission for promotional purposes.
