We are two years into our COVID-19 pandemic journey, but ‘mom, are we there yet?’ In this lecture, Dr. Greer will describe the key features of pandemics and pandemic preparedness and response in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. She will highlight important turning points of the pandemic, where we go from here and key lessons learned from the last 24 months.

About our speaker: Dr. Amy Greer Among multiple other academic appointments Dr. Greer holds a Canada Research Chair in Population Disease Modeling and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Medicine at the University of Guelph. Dr. Greer is a member of the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) COVID-19 Modelling Expert Advisory Group, and three different PHAC-NSERC Emerging Infectious Disease Modelling (EIDM) Networks. Dr. Greer was a co-author of the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table Guidance for School Reopening during the 2021-2022 school year and has contributed to Canadian epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response activities for more than 10 years.
