Ever wondered why a group of people would chose to form a collective, or to incorporate as an organization?
This workshop is for people who band together to pursue a common goal, and need to find resources for a specific project, or to fulfill the group’s mandate over a longer period of time.
The workshop is an introduction to the levels organization and accountability that make a group eligible for various forms of funding from the municipal, provincial or federal governments; quasi non-governmental funders; foundations; fundraising; in-kind gifts; sponsorships and cash donations. Most examples will have an arts slant, but this workshop might also be useful to non-arts community groups.
INSTRUCTOR: Isabella Stefanescu is an interdisciplinary artist based in Waterloo Region. Since she received her first Canada Council grant, Isabella has worked on projects funded by the City of Kitchener, Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, the Musagetes Fund, Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation, Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council, the Department of Canadian Heritage, Ontario Trillium Foundation, KW Awesome Foundation, and the Good Family Foundation.
